International Business Brokers Association (IBBA). Chicago, Illinois. Formed in 1983, the IBBA is the professional society of the M&A business community, providing education, conferences, professional designations, and networking opportunities. It has more than 1,100 members in the world.

The IBBA strives to create a professional relationship with successful business transaction advisors (i.e. CPA’s, bankers, attorneys, and other related associations), to increase the image and value of the IBBA to its members and to be a leader in the exchange of business referrals.

California Association of Business Brokers (CABB) is a professional trade association whose members are actively involved in assisting their clients in selling, buying, and evaluating businesses. CABB was organized to recognize the professionals of business opportunity brokerage, to help educate the public on the benefits of using licensed intermediaries, and to establish a code of ethics to which members adhere.

The M&A Source is the world’s largest international organization of experienced, dedicated merger and acquisition intermediaries representing the middle market.

The M&A Source was established in 1991 to address the issues of merger and acquisition professionals, and has more than 250 cooperative intermediaries around the world.

Founded in 1954, the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) is the premier global association for professionals involved in corporate growth, corporate development, and mergers and acquisitions for mid to large companies. Leaders in corporations, private equity, finance, and professional service firms focused on building value in their organizations belong to ACG. They recognize the multiple benefits of networking within an influential community of executives growing public and private companies worldwide. For 50 years, ACG members have focused on strategic activities that increase revenues, profits and, ultimately, stakeholder value. The Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA) is the oldest professional society devoted solely to the appraisal of closely-held businesses. Established in 1978, the Institute is a pioneer in business appraisal education and professional accreditation.

Business valuation is a specialized field requiring a solid foundation of experience, continuing education, and the highest level of professional integrity. IBA is a nationally recognized organization with membership of over 3,000.
