Founded by Dr. Marilyn Buzolich in 1980, ACTS has been a trusted leader in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology (AT) services for more than four decades. Serving infants, children, and adults with complex communication needs throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, ACTS built its reputation through clinical expertise, innovation, and a commitment to improving communication outcomes for the individuals and families it serves.
As Dr. Buzolich began planning for retirement, finding the right successor became a top priority. Her goal was to ensure the practice would continue serving clients while preserving the culture, values, and opportunities she had created for both staff and families over the years.
Through careful planning and guidance, ABI Group helped facilitate a transition designed to provide continuity for clients while positioning the practice for future growth.
Ascend Rehab Services was selected for its commitment to serving children and families through high-quality therapy and support services. The acquisition expands Ascend’s specialized AAC and Assistive Technology capabilities while building upon the strong foundation established by Dr. Buzolich and her team.
